Mr. Chua Boon Huat
Born in Muar, Johor, Mr Chua was a mechanical technician skilled in hand-carving models. Through a mutual friend he met a packaging factory owner from Taiwan who greatly appreciated his craftsmanship, and a collaboration in making molds began.
In the early 1990s Malaysia’s mold-making industry was still in a lull and most packaging work relied on imported molds. Demand for his molds grew, including more complex electronic tray molds, until handcrafted wooden, plaster, resin and casting molds could no longer keep up.
So in 1993 he founded Malaysia’s first formal mold-making factory, upgrading from handcraft to mechanised production and investing in machinery and drawing design software — to serve the local market without importing from overseas.
Mr. Marcus Chua
Influenced by his father’s leadership and craftsmanship, Marcus entered the industry young and built a deep understanding of mold manufacturing and market dynamics.
He leads Yong Heng with a forward-looking mindset — driving technological advancement, process optimisation and team development — so the company keeps meeting higher precision requirements as customer needs evolve.
